Attention, regulation and thinking skills – sometimes referred to as executive functions – are essential building blocks for social and cognitive development. The START programme fills the gap in provision for children at increased likelihood of experiencing later difficulties with executive function.
NIHR have recognised the need for targeted services for this population and have funded our team at the University of Oxford, led by Dr Alexandra Hendry, along with project partners Peeple, to run a feasibility trial of the START programme between April 2022 and April 2024 in two areas of the UK.
