What are Play Café sessions?
Play Café sessions are special events at the Oxford BabyLab where you can book in for a 2.5 hour FREE stay and play session, and also take part with your toddler in a short study to help us learn more about children’s developing attention, regulation and thinking skills.
Who can take part?
These sessions are for toddlers aged 18-22 month olds. Parents can also bring along a partner, friend or other children.
What will happen in a session?
You will be offered a FREE cup of tea or coffee whilst your child explores the play equipment. Up to 4 families can book in at a time, for up to 2.5 hours (so it doesn’t get too crowded). During the study part of your visit, you and your child will go to a quiet room where we will film your child playing fun games with a researcher, whilst you complete some questionnaires about your child. This bit will last about 20 minutes.
How do I get to the BabyLab, and is there parking available?
The Oxford BabyLab is based in Jericho, central Oxford. You can book a FREE parking space when you book into a slot. Here is a map of how to find us.
